Motorola is back with its latest foldable flagship, the Razr 40 Ultra. As one of the top flip phones on the market, does it deliver a premium experience? Here’s my full review after spending time with the Razr 40 Ultra.

Design and Display

The Motorola Razr 40 Ultra has an elegant clamshell design with Gorilla Glass on the interior and exterior displays for protection. Unfolded, the 6.9″ flexible OLED has stunning clarity and smooth 165Hz refresh. Its second 3.6″ OLED cover screen is great for quick tasks. The hinge mechanism feels robust.

Performance and Specs

Powering everything is Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip for blistering speeds. Memory options include 8GB or 12GB of RAM paired with 256GB or 512GB of storage. Every app and game flew with no lag.

Camera Quality

The triple rear camera is highlighted by a 50MP main shooter producing sharp photos. The 13MP ultrawide adds versatility while selfies from the 32MP front camera were very good. Video capture went up to 4K/60fps.

Software and Battery Life

Motorola’s near-stock Android 13 software is clean and customizable. Battery life was better than expected at around a full day despite the small 3800mAh cell. 30W wired charging topped up quickly too.

Value and Conclusion

At $437 it’s not cheap, but you’re getting a premium foldable experience. The Motorola Razr 40 Ultra delivers flagship specs and flex appeal in an elegant, compact form factor. While not for everyone, it’s a fantastic yet pricey choice for those wanting a true foldable flagship.
