Design and Display

The Motorola Moto G42 has a slim 8mm profile and a lightweight 175g build that feels comfortable to hand. I’m impressed by the inclusion of a 6.4-inch AMOLED display at this price point – colors pop off the screen.

Performance

Powered by the Snapdragon 680 chip and 4GB RAM, navigation and general use feels smooth and responsive. Multitasking handled lots of apps open without stuttering. Storage options go up to 128GB.

Cameras

Photos from the 50MP main camera show plenty of detail, while the 8MP ultrawide adds more flexibility. Selfies come out sharp as well. The video caps at 1080p30 but the quality is decent.

Battery Life

The 5000mAh cell provided reliable all-day battery life during my testing. Even heavy usage days saw juice remaining at bedtime. 18W charging topped it up reasonably quickly.

At just under $350, the Motorola Moto G42 delivers a feature-packed package headlined by its vibrant AMOLED screen. It’s an excellent budget pick for daily essential tasks and media consumption. Strong value overall.
