Unboxing and First Impressions of the Motorola Moto E20

I recently received the Motorola Moto E20 for review. Here are my initial impressions after unboxing and setting up the budget-friendly smartphone.

Unboxing

The retail packaging is fairly basic – a slim white box containing the phone, USB-C cable, wall adapter, and SIM ejection tool. I appreciated the inclusion of a transparent silicone case to protect the phone from day one.

Design and Build

At just 8.5mm thick and 184g, the Moto E20 feels lightweight yet well-constructed. Its plastic back and frame don’t feel cheap. The 6.5-inch HD+ display has noticeable bezels but is sharp enough for media consumption. Fingerprint smudges show up easily on the glossy rear panel though.

Performance and Software

Powering the E20 is the Unisoc T606 chipset paired with 2GB/3GB RAM. Navigation through Android 11 Go Edition felt reasonably smooth in my testing so far. App loading speeds are decent for basic tasks. Gaming performance is average and I didn’t notice any stutters.

Camera

For casual photos, the 13MP rear camera captures good enough detail in favorable lighting. Selfies from the 5MP front camera also look clear. Video quality is limited to 1080p30 FPS. Low-light shots exhibit noise as expected.

Battery Life

With just a 4000mAh battery, I don’t expect a multi-day life but will monitor the screen on time over the coming days. The 10W charging should top up reasonably quickly too.

In the short time I’ve used it, the Moto E20 seems like a capable entry-level smartphone. At its affordable price point, it delivers acceptable performance for basic tasks while looking quite sleek. I’ll provide a full review after more in-depth testing.
