Motorola’s Moto G Stylus series offers an affordable smartphone option with the useful addition of a built-in stylus for those who prefer a more interactive experience. Here are my thoughts on the newest 2023 model after having used it for a while.

Design and Build Quality

Made of plastic and glass materials, the Motorola Moto G Stylus (2023) feels well-constructed for its price point. At 162.9 x 74.1 x 9.2mm and 195g, it’s compact yet easy to hold. The USB-C port and 3.5mm headphone jack are also appreciated additions.

The 6.5-inch LCD is decently sharp at 720p resolution. Colors aren’t as vibrant as higher-end AMOLED panels but sufficient for most uses. I like the handy side-mounted fingerprint sensor for quick security checks.

Performance and Features

Powering the Motorola Moto G Stylus (2023) is the Mediatek Helio G85 chipset paired with 4GB RAM. It handles basic tasks easily enough but more demanding games saw some lag. There’s 64GB of storage which can be expanded via microSD.

The built-in stylus is handy for note-taking, drawing, or precise touchscreen interactions. Its 5000mAh battery comfortably lasts over a day on a charge.

Camera Quality

The dual rear cameras include a 50MP main and 2MP macro shooter. Photos come out clear and detailed in good lighting. Low-light photos are less impressive. The 8MP selfie cam is suitable for average social media shots.

For its affordable price of around $200, the Motorola Moto G Stylus (2023) delivers a fun stylus experience along with decent basics. It’s a good choice for casual use if you’re on a strict budget.
